Afforestation officer

I focuse on production of healthy and mature seedlings ,ensure that project targets are achieved, identifies critically degraded areas in and around refugee camps,mobilises the community for tree planting ,distribution and planting of the seedlings, follow ups on proper planting tecniques, conduct seedling survival rates, work with environment club members in schools on school orchards and competion, encourage and support refugee and host community farmers to improve their lively hood.coordinate and conduct environmental forums including the location and county meetings to make sure the resolutions are adopted. Lead, coordinate activities and commemoration of the world environment day. Attend inter coordination meetings with other partners, GOK, supervise incentives, work as a team with colleques.

Prior to Joining RRDO, I worked with UNHCR from January 1993 to December 1994 asa field clerk incharge of fencing of the refugee blocks with commiphora.

Worked with GIZ From January 1995 to December 2012 in different capacities as an afforestation officer, MSG expert, camp assistant.

Currently working with RRDO which took over from GIZ from January 2013 to date as afforestation officer.

I have a diploma in community development from cefored institue of relief and development Iam based at Dadaab field office, and making daily field visits to the camps to monitor project progress and operations .
